    Ramona’s 2025 queens and princesses crowned at pageant Saturday – San Diego Union-Tribune

    The new Miss Ramona 2025 queens and princesses were crowned at the end of the competition, in which 19 contestants participated, on Saturday, November 2.

    Winners are Miss Ramona Mariah Morris, Miss Teen Ramona Alannah Bowman and Pre-Teen Jr. She became Miss Elle McNett.

    The winning princesses were Joanna Abarca and Sabrina Carey-Verez from Miss Division; Hallie Colbert in the Junior Division; and Pre-Teen Jr. Raelynn Swanson from Dept.

    Morris, an 18-year-old senior at Ramona High School, is a member of her school’s National Honor Society, FFA program and Poetry and Spoken Word Club. She is also the school’s ASB secretary, a member of the Link Crew team that helps incoming freshmen get to know the school, and participates in leadership activities at North Coast Church of Ramona.

    “I was so excited to win the contest,” said Morris, who became friends with Bowman and Colbert during the two-month preparation for the contest and held hands with them when the winners were announced. “I am very excited to help run some of the events and activities.”

    Morris said he hopes to be involved in hosting more events throughout the year, such as the Ramona Christmas Tree Lighting, to bring families and residents together. He attributes his success in the competition to his outgoing personality and honest speaking style.

    “I’m a very cheerful and positive person, I love smiling and helping people,” said Morris, who plans to become a second-grade elementary school teacher.

    The newly crowned Teen Miss Ramona 2025 is Alannah Bowman, 14, a freshman at Sage Oak Charter School who wants to work as an adaptive arts major.

    “I had so much fun in all the rehearsals we had before the show, and I’m so glad I didn’t have to give it up,” Bowman said.

    The newly crowned Pre-Teen Jr. Miss 2025 is Elle McNett, a 12-year-old sixth grader at Barnett Elementary School who aspires to become a lawyer.

    “After I was called to be crowned, everything felt like a dream, and it still does,” said McNett. “I’m so happy to represent Ramona.”

    The Miss Ramona Scholarship Pageant, held at Mountain View Community Church, started with a dance performance by all contestants ages 11 to 18.

    Highlights of the ceremony included the casual wear contest, where contestants introduced themselves and shared a “golden nugget” of information about Ramona’s history. They then participated in an evening gown competition that featured their favorite artists, flowers and colors, described their career interests and had them answer an impromptu question.

    Part of the ceremony also included videos of the 2024 royals (Miss Ramona Hannah Ferguson, Miss Junior Ramona Keely Townley, and Miss Pre-teen Jr. Ramona Tarin Kilcoyne) thanking their supporters.

    “You are the true embodiment of a queen,” Pageant Director Noelle Day said of Ferguson. “You always wear your heart on your sleeve. You are kind and selfless. “You went above and beyond and were very helpful.”

    Ferguson said she enjoyed volunteering at the Ramona Junior Fair and learned the importance of teamwork and the value of donating time and services to those in need.

    “I also learned how easy it is to make someone’s day with a simple conversation or smile,” she said.
