BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Liam Payne’s body will be delivered to his family Two police sources told ABC News.

Sources said the prosecution allowed Payne’s body to be released to his father, Geoff Payne.

According to officials at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, Geoff Payne has been in the Argentine capital since October 18 and is trying to repatriate his son’s body for burial in his native England.

Sources have previously said the release of Payne’s body depends on the court’s findings in the criminal case.

One way The singer died on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires.

Emergency services were called to deal with a man who was acting erratically and perhaps under the influence, SAME Buenos Aires Emergency Medical Services Director Alberto Crescenti previously told ABC News. Payne’s body was found in the inner courtyard of the hotel and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Crescenti.

Since his death, a partial autopsy revealed: Payne had multiple substances in his body He died that day after falling from his hotel room.

The preliminary report, published a day after his death, stated that the singer died due to “multiple traumas” and “internal and external bleeding”. The autopsy revealed that 25 injuries were reported on his body as a result of the fall.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation say: Security cameras examined by police It was revealed that multiple drug transactions took place between a dealer and a hotel employee before Payne’s death.

Police are still investigating whether the hotel employee supplied Payne with drugs, sources said.

Argentinian authorities raided the hotel on October 23 as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of the late singer.

CCTV footage shows Payne sleeping in the hotel lobby with a bottle of whiskey in his hand, sources told ABC News.

Sources say police never believed Payne’s death was suicide or intentional.

Police also detected the presence of two female companions at the hotel in the hours before Payne’s death, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation.

ABC News has contacted the hotel for comment.
