Tren de Aragua gang members arrested for murder in Aurora

Federal agents this week announced the arrest of two members documented in Aurora. Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua on suspicion of murder and aggravated kidnapping.

Venezuelan immigrants Carl Luis Zambrano-Bolivar, 26, and Jhonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez, 22, who were in the United States without permission, were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on September 26. according to an ICE news release.

A third alleged Tren de Aragua member (38-year-old Ehiker Morales Mendoza) was arrested in Las Cruces, NM, on October 11 in connection with the alleged murder of Nilzuly Enrique Arneaud-Petit, also 33, in north Texas.

“By coming together as a law enforcement community to successfully identify and apprehend these fugitives across state lines, we sent a strong message that we are united in our efforts to dismantle these violent criminal networks and end the lawlessness they spread,” he said at ICE’s headquarters in Dallas. Travis Pickard, acting special agent in charge of the Homeland Security Investigations component.

Authorities plan to extradite three suspects to Texas to stand trial in connection with the murder, while the fourth wanted gang member, Jhonny Jesus Martinez Serrano, 29, remains at large, the news release said.
