Leveraging Leaf’s battery electric vehicle know-how, e-Power uses a small-capacity gasoline engine and lithium-ion battery to power an electric motor. The electric motor alone provides traction power. The result is an EV-like driving experience.

In China, e-Power launched with Sylphy in 2021. After expanding into the X-Trail compact SUV, they managed to reach a total production of 60,000 units.

In Europe, e-Power versions of the X-Trail and Qashqai SUVs are launched in 2022. More than 140,000 units have been sold here since then.

Nissan plans to launch e-Power in the United States and Canada by the end of 2026.
