Harris attacks Trump and praises Gen Z in closing speech to Georgia voters

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic 2024 presidential candidate, harshly criticized former President Trump and praised young voters in possibly her final campaign speech in Georgia.

Harris spoke to supporters in downtown Atlanta on Saturday, three days before voters across the country who have yet to vote head to the polls on Election Day.

“We have three days left—three days in one of the most important elections of our lifetimes—and we still have work to do,” the vice president said.

He began attacking Trump just a few minutes into his nearly 22-minute speech.

“In this election, we have the opportunity to finally turn the page on a decade of Donald Trump who spent all his time dividing us and making us afraid of each other. We’re done. We’re done with this,” Harris said. .

“This isn’t someone thinking about how to make your life better; this is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed by grievance. And the man is after unchecked power.”

He then asked “young leaders” to raise their hands and heaped praise on members of Generation Z, a voting bloc that both Republicans and Democrats are struggling to win.

“I love Gen Z. I love it,” Harris said. “Because look, this generation, you are rightfully impatient with change. You are rightfully impatient with change. You are determined to live free from gun violence, to combat the climate crisis, and to shape the world you inherited.”

“I see your strength. And I’m so proud of you.”

Trump’s campaign criticized Harris’ visit to the Peach State in a statement Saturday morning.

“Kamala Harris’s last-ditch attempt to enlighten Georgians and distract them with irrelevant liberal Hollywood elites and glamorous celebrities shows how desperate she is to distract Georgians from her failed policy agenda of the past four years,” spokeswoman Morgan Ackley said. for Trump’s campaign in Georgia.
