Peoria police arrest man stabbed during football game

PHOENIX – A 14-year-old suspect surrendered to police Wednesday, nearly two weeks after a stabbing at a Peoria High School football game, authorities said.

On Oct. 18, around 9:15 p.m., Peoria police responded to a stabbing that occurred during the game. 11200 N. near 83rd Street. Authorities believe the incident, which occurred near the stands, was an isolated incident involving two children.

One child was taken to a local hospital with a minor injury to his abdomen, while the 14-year-old suspect left the scene before authorities could reach him.

During the investigation, it was determined that there was a fight between two people due to a knife fight.

The 14-year-old suspect was taken to the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.
