Haas driver Kevin Magnussen dismissed in Brazil due to illness, Oliver Bearman takes over

SAO PAULO (AP) — Kevin Magnussen is unwell and unable to race for the Haas team in Friday’s free practice or Saturday’s Brazilian Grand Prix sprint race.

Oliver Bearman, 19, will replace 32-year-old Dane.

Haas did not provide detailed information about Magnussen’s illness in his short statement.

“The team wishes Kevin a speedy recovery and will provide further updates in due course,” Haas said. he said.

British driver Bearman will make his second appearance at Haas. He also replaced Magnussen at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September and scored one point.

Bearman, who will race for Haas in 2025, completed free practice at Interlagos on Friday morning with the third best time, behind McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell.
