Five minor boys accused of raping 14-year-old girl

3 of the 5 boys who allegedly gang raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded this disgusting incident were arrested.

Police confirmed detectives from the Mitchells Plain Domestic Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) unit made the arrests on Wednesday, October 23.

The suspects, aged 17, 14 and 12, are accused of rape and producing child pornography.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie said the trio had their first court appearance at Mitchells Magistrates’ Court on Thursday; Since all those involved were minors, no one was allowed to appear in court.

He said the other two suspects were aged 10 and 11 and were handed over to the care of their parents “subject to the intervention of the Department of Social Development and SAPS forensic social workers”.

Meisie described her ordeal after Ouma was shown the video showing the victim’s private parts and face, and the young attackers took turns bragging about how they raped her.

The girl said she skipped school that day and was sitting in a park when boys approached her and pointed a gun at her.

They forced her to walk to a veldjie near Kapteinsklip Station and recorded the incident where she was held down and raped.

Ouma says he wants justice for his traumatized grandson.

“When they told me (about the arrests), I felt a little sorry for the kids, because they are young and this will happen to them forever, but then I look at my grandson and how this is destroying his future. “He deserves justice for what was done to him.”

The case has been adjourned until December 4, according to National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Eric Ntabazalila.

Veranique Williams, vice-president of the Mitchells Plain Community Policing Forum, welcomed the arrests.

“More awareness should be raised on these issues in schools, and they should be reminded that even if they are children, they may face criminal sanctions.”
