Woman arrested after being stabbed in Utica on Sunday night

UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Utica woman was arrested Sunday night after police interviewed a stabbing victim at Wynn Hospital.

On Sunday, October 27, at around 23:00, police teams were dispatched to the hospital regarding a patient with a stab wound. When they arrived, they spoke with the victim, who said he had allegedly gotten into an argument with his girlfriend while at his home in the 900 block of Arnold Boulevard.

As the argument escalated, the victim’s girlfriend (later identified as 40-year-old Taneka Davis) allegedly brandished a knife and cut the victim’s face.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had multiple cuts on his hands and arms consistent with self-defense. After investigating, officers said they were able to locate Davis as well as evidence of an assault. Davis was taken into custody and transported to the Utica Police Department.

Davis is accused of:

  • second degree Assault, a Class D Violent Felony, and

  • fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Class A Misdemeanor.
