Duval County tax notices will be mailed on October 31. Here’s how property owners can pay their bills

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – 2024 Duval County tax notices will be mailed Thursday, and property owners can expect their bills in their mailboxes in the coming days, according to Duval County Tax Collector Jim Overton.

Officials said in-person payments to the county’s nine tax collector branches are expected to get crowded once property owners receive their tax bills.

While long wait times aren’t ideal, there are other ways to avoid lines this tax season.

“Online payments are the fastest, easiest and most efficient way for customers to pay their tax bills,” Overton said.

This year’s tax bills are already open on the website www.duvaltc.com and now they accept payment.

“Customers who need to pay in person Join Evenfeature on www.duvaltc.comThis allows them to add themselves to a virtual online queue and reserve their place in line before arriving at the branch. “Once in the queue, the customer will receive updates about their place in the queue via text message and will be notified when to come into the branch for service,” Overton said.

For those paying online or in person, credit card payments will incur a 2.5 percent surcharge from the credit card company, or a minimum of $2.50.

Customers who plan to pay by check must write their 10-digit account number on their check. Do not staple or paperclip the check to the pay stub; This will prevent payment from being processed properly and delay your receipt. Checks should be made payable to the Duval County Tax Collector and mailed to PO Box 44009, Jacksonville, FL 32231-4009.

It should also be noted that a 4 percent discount will be applied to property owners who pay by November 30. 3 percent discount if you pay by December 31, 2 percent if you pay by January 31, and 1 percent if you pay by February 28. The deadline to pay your 2024 tax bill is March 31.

Property owners who do not receive invoices should visit www.duvaltc.comand select “Property Taxes” to find and pay bills online or email [email protected] to find out the amount owed. If you do not receive the tax invoice, you will still be responsible for any fees due by March 31st.

If you need to change your mailing address, it is recommended that you download and send the address change form from the Real Estate Appraiser Office at . www.coj.net/paor email [email protected].
