Commanders beat Bears after Jayden Daniels Hail Mary

The Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Chicago Bears in Week 8 in a battle of rookie quarterbacks that came down to the final play of the game.

With No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense down three points after a late touchdown, No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels had one last chance to lead the Commanders to victory.

After completing a relatively short pass to get into Hail Mary range on the final play of the night, Daniels scrambled inside the pocket before throwing the ball as far as he could.

Chicago’s defenders did their best to cover all of Washington’s receivers, but they eventually put the ball in the hands of Commanders’ pass catcher Noah Brown, who secured a highly improbable touchdown reception to win the game.

Take a look at Daniels’ Hail Mary connection to Brown in this video shared on Twitter by the NFL’s official account:

Fans were shocked to see Daniels able to complete the pass and were quick to react to Washington’s win when they saw the play online.
