Pop culture connoisseurs flocked in droves to the fourth annual Winnipeg Comiccon this weekend.

A parade of colors and characters filled the RBC Convention Center; This year’s attendance is expected to be more than double the number of people who passed through the event when it first opened in 2021.

“We’re probably surpassing 30,000 attendees this year,” said Comiccon program director Cliff Caporale.

This year’s Comiccon features a number of special guests, including Elijah Wood and Billy Boyd from the film trilogy Lord of the RingsCanadian actor Alexander Ludwig, Maggie Robertson, and the Trailer Park Boys, among others.

“I think a lot of people are aware of the convention, and I hope to continue to grow you and discover to people what the convention is all about,” Caporale said.

Visitors are also invited to visit the Exhibit Hall, which features a variety of vendors selling different themed items and handmade items.

Winnipeg Comiccon runs until 18:00 on Sunday, October 27, admission is $40 per day. More information can be found online.
