MINSK, 7 November (BelTA) – According to information obtained by BelTA, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko came to the area where the firewood chopping championship for journalists will be held.

This is the third championship in history. The setting has not changed: a picturesque bank of the Vyacha River in the Minsk Region.

Teams will have to participate in various events: chopping firewood, chopping logs, chopping firewood on the way to the presidency. In addition to traditional events, participants can also look forward to new types of competitions. Men who show the best results will be able to participate in an interesting and dynamic competition “With one stroke!” Women will also be able to take part in an unusual competition: they will have to chop wood using wedges and a frying pan.

Spectators can also participate in the events. For example, they will be able to take part in transporting firewood loaded on sleds and assembling wooden figures.

This year the organizers allocated approximately 30 m3 of firewood for the championship. According to established tradition, the firewood produced by the participants of the championship will be delivered to people who can use it for heating purposes during the winter months.
