Tyler Reddick made a great move in Turn 3 to pass Ryan Blaney and take the victory. Reddick advanced to the Championship 4 for the first time in his career.

Denny Hamlin restarted third and moved up in a four-way situation with Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott to take the lead.

Blaney then moved inside to take the lead.

The leaders raced for new tyres. Kyle Larson came to a slow stop after his spin to bring out the caution, with the left back receiving extra time. He ranked 10th.

Tyler Reddick, who had just pitted, was left out and now holds the lead.

As they raced for the lead, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson ran past Austin Dillon, who was one lap down. Blaney and Larson went under Dillon in Turn 3. Larson touched Blaney’s quarter panel and returned to issue the sixth caution.

Larson has managed to keep improving and currently sits in second place.

Denny Hamlin passed Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott on the front row to finish fourth. Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson will compete fiercely with each other for the leadership. Hamlin should be able to get close.

Tyler Reddick pitted and actually had no claim to the win.

Tyler Reddick last pitted on lap 187 and made a long run to get a race-ending caution. A caution would allow Reddick to remain on the lead lap after the pit stop.

The leaders prepare for their final pit stop with 47 laps remaining in Sunday’s race at Homestead. Ryan Blaney leads as he enters the pit stop.

So far, there have been no problems in the pit area for the play-off drivers.

Blaney returned to the lead after passing Chase Elliott following pit stops.

Ryan Blaney has led 26 laps and is leading the race with less than 60 laps to go. Second-place Chase Elliott led 80 laps. Here are the top 10 teams with the top seven playoff drivers:

  1. Ryan Blaney
  2. Chase Elliott
  3. Kyle Larson
  4. Christopher Bell
  5. Tyler Reddick
  6. Denny Hamlin
  7. William Byron
  8. Alex Bowman
  9. Carson Hocevar
  10. A.J. Allmendinger

Ryan Blaney won the race on pit road under a caution from Justin Haley. With another pit stop on the horizon, the field turns green.

Drivers are reminded by their teams to save fuel as much as possible.

Justin Haley returned again as he did in round 1. This time he didn’t hit Ricky Stenhouse Jr., he was spun by Ty Gibbs. Drivers will pit due to warning.

Kyle Larson hit the wall on the first lap and dropped to 34th place. He fought his way to sixth place and raced Denny Hamlin for fifth.

Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell are all within half a second of each other for the lead. Blaney and Elliott race door to door for the lead.

Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell were on the front row to start the final stretch and were battling for the lead.

Watch out for potentially two pit stops in the final stage.

Denny Hamlin won the second stage after a fierce battle with Chase Elliott to finish the stage. Playoff drivers dominated the second stage. This was Hamlin’s seventh stage win this season and his first in 12 races.

Top 10 in stage 2:

  1. Denny Hamlin
  2. Chase Elliott
  3. Christopher Bell
  4. Tyler Reddick
  5. Ryan Blaney
  6. William Byron
  7. Martin Truex Jr.
  8. Carson Hocevar
  9. Ryan Preece
  10. A.J. Allmendinger

Hamlin took the lead for the first time at Homestead, but Chase Elliott isn’t going to give it up easily. Elliott battles Hamlin as the two drivers race closely at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Chase Elliott made a high move to pull away from Ryan Blaney and take the lead in the second half of the second stage of Sunday’s race. The two had a close moment when Elliott slid in front of Blaney, who he needed to control. Blaney passed Elliott for a moment. Elliott made a move to take the lead in Turn 4.

After the second cycle of green flag pit stops in Sunday’s race, Ryan Blaney retook the lead. He pitted on lap 114. Playoff drivers lead the top five:

  1. Ryan Blaney
  2. Chase Elliott
  3. Christopher Bell
  4. William Byron
  5. Denny Hamlin

Most of the playoff drivers made excellent pit stops further down the field. Ryan Blaney took a slightly taller stance to make sure his right rear fender wouldn’t cause further damage after scraping against the wall.

Otherwise, it’s the second clean cycle of green flag pit stops at Homestead.

As green flag pit stops approach, all of the playoff drivers are pushing for the lead.

Top five:

  1. Elliott
  2. hamlin
  3. reddick
  4. Blaney
  5. Hochevar

Ryan Blaney won the race on pit road and now holds the lead at Homestead. After the stage break, the race is under the green flag again. Blaney is one of the play-off drivers most likely needing a win to advance to the Championship 4.

Chase Elliott and Bubba Wallace raced past Blaney coming out of Turn 2. Elliott is ahead.

Tyler Reddick won the first stage of Sunday’s race. He led 57 laps in Sunday’s race.

Top 10 after the first stage:

  1. Tyler Reddick
  2. Bubba Wallace
  3. Chase Elliott
  4. Ryan Blaney
  5. Carson Hocevar
  6. Christopher Bell
  7. Denny Hamlin
  8. William Byron
  9. Alex Bowman
  10. Martin Truex Jr.

Kyle Busch led the field to the green flag, but Bubba Wallace made a bold move midway through Turn 1 and now holds the lead. Tyler Reddick is second and the playoff leader.

Kyle Larson hit the wall exiting Turn 2, causing damage to the right rear fender. He was in second place when his tire was cut. There does not appear to be significant damage to the underbody of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. The team spent a long time examining the car.

“I can live with that,” Larson said on team radio.

Pit lane is busy under caution.

Green flag pit stops are being held at Homestead for the first time. Chase Elliott had a minor issue with Daniel Suarez as he left the pitlane, but there were no problems for the playoff drivers during Sunday’s first pit stops.

Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson beat Reddick on pit road to move up to 45th.

It’s a three-car battle for the lead with playoff drivers Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson.

Larson tried to make a move to take the lead over Reddick at the track’s low line and nearly left the surface entering Turn 1.

Justin Haley started from 10th, passing Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Turn 3. He made contact with and spun his No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet. Everyone missed him as he passed through the scene.

Let’s get to the playoffs at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Tyler Reddick takes the field to the green. Kyle Larson spun tires at the start and was passed by Christopher Bell at the first corner.

Joey Logano and Chris Buescher both had power steering issues and were forced to move to the back of the field.

During the race, be careful that drivers start their cars near the walls. This is often referred to as “running on the boards” or “running on the wall”. This is where the most grip is on the racetrack. As the sun sets and the track temperature drops, the low line near the white line is the spot to run in turns.

Fuel range is 64-69 laps, stages are 80 laps, 85 laps and 102 laps. Similar to last week’s race in Las Vegas, pit stops near the middle of the stage will be the strategy of some teams. Last week’s race was won by Joey Logano with a long fuel burn in the final stage. Watch out for a similar call at the final stage.

Otherwise, drivers will likely pit once in each of the first two stages, once between stages, and possibly twice in the final stage. If a late strike is issued, good luck beating those numbers.
