Grandma’s Marathon sold out in record time

Registration for Grandma’s Marathon reached capacity on Wednesday, November 6, marking the fastest sell-out in the event’s history.

“It’s humbling,” said Director of Marketing and Public Relations Zach Schneider. “This speaks volumes about the work, care and passion our entire community puts into our race weekend.”

The fastest sell-out before this year’s race was in 2016, when the marathon sold out on December 31.

“The record is largely based on past performance. This community has built something that people want to be a part of and expect to be a positive experience, and we should all take some pride in that,” Schneider said. “The focus is now shifting dramatically, and the hard work begins as we hope to absolutely meet and exceed those expectations in June. “

More than 22,000 people are expected to attend one of three races over the weekend. Tickets for both the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the William A. Irvin 5K sold out just days after registration opened on October 1.

Grandma’s Marathon weekend is set for June 19-21, 2025.
