HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) – Demagio Person, 37, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree crime, following a Wednesday morning shooting outside Fedex on Alliance Parkway, police told KWTX.

Officers first responded to a disturbance call around 7 a.m. The two men reportedly fought and fired several shots during the fight.

One man was armed with a rifle and the other was armed with a hand gun, police said.

According to police, the fight was the result of an apparent love triangle in which both men were dating the same woman.

Police said one of the people involved in the attack worked for FedEx.

Both men were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but were later released.

Police said the man was the only person charged in the incident because the other man, the FedEx employee, acted in self-defense.

The person was being held in the McLennan County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon. The bond amount was not yet listed online.
