New York Giants Holding Trade Deadline Despite Interest from Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons was often linked New York Giants outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari Heading into Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Giants opted to keep their standout pass rusher.

Ojulari has six sacks and nine quarterback hits in nine games this season. The 24-year-old started four contests for New York this season and had 26 tackles and seven tackles for loss.

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s passing offense ranks last in the NFL with nine sacks, making it the only team with single-digit sacks as the calendar turns to Week 10.

hawks was linked He traded for the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Ojulari in the days leading up to the trade deadline, and ESPN reported Saturday that Atlanta was expected to trade Ojulari.

But it wasn’t formulated, and the Falcons are now wondering what could happen to Ojulari.

Since entering the league as a second-round draft pick in 2021, Ojulari has 22 career strikeouts in 44 games. Before getting off to a strong start this season, he had eight points as a rookie, including 5.5 in 2022 and 2.5 in 2023.

Atlanta’s passing offense has struggled a lot this season. After losing last year’s leading sacks (outside linebacker Bud Dupree and linebacker Calais Campbell) in free agency this summer, the Falcons were unable to put consistent pressure on the quarterback and finish plays.

Ojulari had a chance to be the solution, but instead he will finish out the final year of his contract in New York.
