    ‘Terrible incident’: Police hunt for gunman after deadly Melbourne attack

    A murder investigation is ongoing into the death of a man found with fatal gunshot wounds in inner Melbourne.
    A man, who has not yet been identified, was found on Langford Street in North Melbourne at around 3.15am on Saturday.

    He died at the scene.

    Detective Acting Inspector Alan Rumble said on Saturday morning: “This is a horrific incident. This is something none of us – police or local people – wanted to experience.”
    Investigators set up a crime scene around the area, close to the train line, main road and creek.
    Victoria Police said in a statement that investigators were working to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
    No arrests were made.
