(This story has been updated to add new information.)

Former President Donald Trump voted Tuesday at the Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center on Seaview Boulevard in Palm Beach.

He was accompanied by his wife, Melania Trump.

Trump, along with Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, are running as a Republican for a second term in the White House against Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Security around the Recreation Center was tight Tuesday morning; The public parking lot on Royal Palm Way closed before Trump’s arrival, and a row of white tents formed a tunnel from that parking lot to the south entrance of the polling place.

Parking in the municipal parking lot next to the Recreation Center on the north side of Royal Palm Way, near Seaview Park, will be limited on Monday and will be fully available by 2013 on Tuesday, town officials said in an email to the Recreation Department on Friday. He said it would be closed. afternoon.

While it’s unclear exactly when Trump and his family will vote in the days leading up to Election Day, members of the media tried to catch a glimpse of the Republican presidential nominee outside the Recreation Center early Tuesday. Media representatives included representatives from India, Portugal, Germany, Denmark and Japan.

Supporters of the former president also gathered outside the Recreation Center ahead of his arrival Tuesday. Some sat on a wall outside Palm Beach Public School, while others waited near the Recreation Center’s tennis courts. Some tennis players paused their games while waiting for Trump to appear.

Voters who were not running for president but needed to vote Tuesday were able to enter from the north side of the Recreation Center. A trio of parking lots on Seaview Boulevard are marked with signs and traffic barricades as 30-minute voter-only spots.

Most of the other areas in Seaview were occupied by the press.

The Trumps left the Recreation Center to head home to Mar-a-Lago; They will reportedly wait until 10 p.m. Tuesday before heading to the Trump campaign’s Election Night watch party at the Palm Beach County Convention Center here in West Palm Beach.
