A fire at an empty restaurant near the Citadel Shopping Center is under investigation.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Firefighters are investigating after a fire broke out at a vacant restaurant at North Academy late Monday night.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department was called to the former Bayou Seafood and BBQ just south of Platte around 11 p.m. for smoke visible inside the building. The restaurant is not currently operating and the building is closed.

The fire, which was taken under control within a few minutes when firefighters arrived at the scene, was completely extinguished at 23.40.

#Update The fire has been extinguished and firefighters are at the scene. Most of the fire crews leave the scene. No injuries were reported. Investigators will be on scene within the next few hours.
