Trial date set for man accused of Norwich murder

A trial date has been set for a man accused of murder following a fatal stabbing.

Elvis Vickers, 46, of Mousehold Street, Norwich, appeared at the city’s royal palace via video link on Tuesday.

He is accused of murdering 48-year-old Abdulkadar Chadli, who was found fatally injured on Mousehold Street at around 22:15 GMT on Friday 1 November.

Mr Vickers, who spoke only to confirm his name, was told he would appear in court in March 2025. He was detained.

Mr Chadli was pronounced dead at the scene. An initial autopsy revealed that his death was consistent with a stab wound in his chest.

A 37-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing has been released on bail pending further investigation.
