Jamie Kah was allowed to race for the remainder of the Victoria Derby day meeting, despite withdrawing from the fifth race due to a nose injury.

Stewards withdrew Group 2 Wakeful Stakes mount Hurry Curry at 3pm after the mare threw back her head and struck Kah in the face.

His nose was bleeding freely and after consulting with the doctor at the barriers it was decided to stop it temporarily, meaning Hurry Curry had to scratch himself.

When Kah returned to the weigh-in, he was re-examined by the club doctor and was allowed to perform his duties for the remainder of the day.

The race was further postponed after NSW visitor Ziggy Rose failed to load and scratched the barrier.
