Police say 5 dead in Duluth murder and suicide – Twin Cities

DULUTH — Police on Friday identified five people who died of apparent gunshot wounds, including the suspect, after two incidents believed to be related Thursday.

According to the Duluth Police Department, officers responded to a welfare check request in the 6000 block of Tacony Street around 2:10 p.m. Thursday and found the bodies of 47-year-old Erin Abramson and 15-year-old Jacob Nephew. There may be multiple gunshot wounds.

A suspect was identified and officers established a perimeter at his home in the 4400 block of West Sixth Street. According to the press release, officers entered the home and found 45-year-old Kathryn Nephew, Ramsland, and 7-year-old Oliver Nephew dead, as well as the suspect, Anthony Nephew, 46. It could be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The locations are about a mile apart, and the West Sixth Street view is across the street from Denfeld High School.

Police said the victims and the suspect knew each other and the investigation is ongoing.
