RB Rhamondre Stevenson will be a key to helping Maye push for an unlikely win. He’s the Patriots’ most reliable offensive playmaker, and last week he caught a TD pass from Maye after a masterful tackle drill to force overtime.

Chicago wants to make this winnable matchup to get back on a positive track, and Maye may not be able to put up numbers in catch-up mode.

Chicago could take a pretty simple approach to defending New England’s offense. The Bears will try to limit the running game from the gate, forcing the rookie QB to put the game in the hands of his unreliable receiving corps.

According to Pro Football Focus, this matchup does not bode well for Stevenson finding too much open space. The New England offensive line ranks 28th in the NFL in offensive line run blocking grade against the Chicago defensive line.

It seems like most other opponents are taking a similar approach to locking in on Stevenson when facing the New England offense. He has failed to reach the 50-yard mark in three straight games and five of the last six.
