Legendary British rocker’s son dies: Devastated star says ‘heartbroken’ as tributes pour in

The son of legendary British rocker and The Who drummer Kenney Jones has died, leaving the music star with a ‘broken heart’.

Kenney, who is the only surviving member of 1960s hitmakers The Small Faces and replaced The Who’s drummer Keith Moon in 1978, announced the news on Thursday.

The 76-year-old man said in his post on Facebook: ‘It is with a broken heart that I share the devastating news that my son Jesse has passed away.

‘I don’t have words to fully express how I feel right now. But I would like to thank you all for your well wishes at this indescribably painful time and ask for your continued love, respect and privacy as we work as a family to cope with this profound loss.’

It is unknown how Jesse, who was interested in DJing and believed to be a father, died. However, praise later poured in on social media.

‘The world is a little less bright without Jess. She was a beautiful soul and loved by many. “Our condolences to all your family and friends, RIP Jess,” Sally McNally wrote on Facebook.

Bubs Read was stunned by the shock news and wrote: ‘So sorry for this Kenney. Jesse was one of life’s colorful characters, the world would be less without him.

‘My thoughts and love are with you and your family at this terrible time.’

Kenney had six children from his two marriages. He owns and manages Hurtwood Park polo club in Surrey, where he hosts events where star band THE JONES GANG play.

These sometimes include Kenney’s close friend Sir Rod Stewart, with whom he was in The Faces.

Kenney’s other rock star friends include The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Genesis’ Mike Rutherford and The Police’s Stewart Copeland.

He joined The Who following the death of the band’s former drummer Keith Moon.
