ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (WWSB/Gray News) – A little boy died after allegedly being left in a car all day in Florida.

St. According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, a man went to Bayfront Child Development Center to pick up his child on Wednesday.

But when she spoke to staff, they told her that her 1-year-old son was not going to school that day.

St. St. Pete police said the father, realizing he hadn’t dropped off his son, returned to his car and found his child unresponsive.

Police determined that the child died at the scene.

Authorities say they continue to investigate the situation.

Last year, Child and Care Safety reported that there were six hot car deaths in the state of Florida.
