FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – A road is closed in Franklin due to an increased law enforcement presence, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say their presence has increased near Walker Hill Road due to an active standoff.

WCSO said they responded to a home in that area for a report of domestic violence involving a weapon.

When the suspect arrived at the scene, he barricaded himself inside the house. Deputies now engage in a shootout with the suspect inside the home.

Police assign a negotiator to the scene to ensure the suspect leaves the house.

“As a precaution, Walker Hill Road between Pinewood Road and Peaceful Haven Road has been temporarily closed.
