What Do Experts Predict Will Happen in Week 11?

No. 14 LSU (6-2, 3-1) welcomes the Alabama Crimson Tide to Tiger Stadium on Saturday night as both programs look to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive.

It will be the first 15 game in Baton Rouge and will have major postseason implications.

“The loser of this game says goodbye to the season,” SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum told ‘SportsCenter’. “Not in a literal sense, but in a CFP (College Football Playoff) sense.”

“The loser will have three defeats. There’s no way to go back. There will be an SEC Championship Game. There really will be no hope. “There are so many schools competing for these big offers.”

What are the latest predictions? Can the Tigers pull off the home upset?

The Alabama Crimson Tide are currently among the three-point favorites heading into the Week 11 matchup. Vegas, which was around 1.5 points a week ago, continues to lean towards the Tide as the favorite on Saturday night.

LSU took 55% of the bets to pick up a decisive victory or close the gap by a field goal or less in Saturday night’s upset against the Crimson Tide.

Another 45% of bets coming in this week believe Alabama will close the three-point lead and win by a field goal or more.

Looking at Vegas’ predicted betting spread, it believes the Crimson Tide will beat the Bayou Bengals by a projected score of 31-28 on Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

ESPN’s Football Power Index predicts the outcome of every game on the College Football slate, with the most recent results recorded for Week 11.

Now, as this weekend’s schedule approaches, FPI has released an expert prediction for Saturday night in Death Valley.

The model favors the Alabama Crimson Tide, where Kalen DeBoer’s club has a 69.8% chance of winning the Southeastern Conference matchup.

With this, the Tigers have a 30.2% chance of avoiding a home defeat in the prime-time matchup.

“Overall, the Crimson Tide stood out at 13,960 of the index calculations While the Tigers edged Bama in 6,040 other picks. Alabama is expected to be 7.6 points better More than LSU on the same field in both teams’ current composition, according to the model’s latest prediction.”

It’s important to note that Brian Kelly has yet to lose a night game in Baton Rouge to this point, but ESPN’s Football Power Index continues to rely heavily on the Crimson Tide to break its hot streak.

CBS Analysts’ Picks: LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

Aaron Taylor: Alabama

“I like Alabama a little bit more in this game,” Taylor said. “They’re playing their fastest game of the season,” Taylor said.

Part of his lack of confidence in the Bayou Bengals stems from LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s inefficiency in the second half against Texas A&M.

“It’s hard for me to get the play Nussmeier made in the last game (against Texas A&M).”

Rick Neuheisel: Alabama

Neuheisel agreed with Taylor’s thoughts about Nussmeier’s inefficient play; We pair this with LSU’s lack of a rushing attack through eight games of the 2024 season.

“When you factor in that LSU can’t run the football, they’re last in the SEC in running the football, and that puts extra pressure on Garrett Nussmeier.”

Randy Cross and Brian Jones: LSU

Two CBS analysts have noted predictions that the LSU Tigers will enter Death Valley as underdogs and triumph over the Crimson Tide.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly is 13-0 in night games at Tiger Stadium. Now he will put his unbeaten streak to the test against Jalen Milroe and the Tide.

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt noted his prediction Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

Alabama remains a 2.5-point favorite, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, and Klatt is also backing the Crimson Tide.

“Remember, ‘Bama beat Georgia. And in this case, I would like them to win at LSU at night. They’re definitely involved,” Klatt said of Alabama’s College Football Playoff chances.

The Crimson Tide, like LSU, will be idle in Week 10 before next Saturday’s matchup, but will certainly have all the momentum heading into Nov. 9.

After a 34-0 victory in their last game against Missouri, Alabama is firing on all cylinders heading into next weekend.

“This was a big comeback win for Alabama on Saturday, even if it was against a Missouri team that has been overrated since the start of the season. Alabama’s defense played incredibly well after a few weeks of lackluster play,” Klatt said.

“I’m not sure how much we should get out of this game because I don’t think Missouri was particularly good. But when you go 34-0 against an SEC opponent, it has to mean something.”
