RCMP have identified a woman who was stabbed to death in Fort McMurray on Tuesday.

RCMP say 21-year-old Tia Bella Blacklock was found in the Thickwood neighborhood at 12:53 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 22-year-old attacker was located in the heart of the city center a short time later and was arrested.

RCMP said an autopsy performed Wednesday confirmed Blacklock’s death was a homicide.
