Man fatally cuts 18-year-old female employee at bar

TOKYO (Kyodo) — An 18-year-old who worked at a “girls bar” in Tokyo where young women served drinks was fatally slashed with a knife by a male customer early Sunday, police said.

The customer, whose name was claimed to be 49-year-old Hiroyuki Chigira from Gunma Prefecture, allegedly cut female worker Yuna Tanisawa in the neck at around 5:40 in the morning at the bar in the lively area of ​​Tokyo’s Shimbashi district.

The bar’s manager held him down and police arrested him at the scene, according to police.

The knife used in the crime had a 10-centimeter blade and was apparently among Chigira’s belongings. Tanisawa, who lived in Tokyo, was confirmed dead in hospital.
