NBA Fans React to New Lonzo Ball Injury Update

Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball played in three games this season after missing the last two seasons due to injury. Ball’s return to the court was crucial because there was some concern during his long injury absence that he might never return to the NBA court.

Ball has not only returned, but has also shown his pre-injury form in the three games he has played this season. In a very unfortunate development, Ball suffered a sprain in his right ankle and is currently sidelined. Speaking to reporters, Bulls coach Billy Donovan gave an update on Ball’s ankle.

Via KC Johnson of Chicago Sports News: “Ball told us last week that he would likely need surgery if he continued to play with the injury. Donovan added more context by saying it could be like Patrick Williams’ season-ending wrist surgery in 2021-22.”

NBA fans are reacting to this update.

Via @chicagownerJL: “The unluckiest team in the league.”

via @a_gracia_: “We can’t take a break with this guy”

via @ShoeBox219: “It might be over.”

Via @waynecypress: “This is starting to remind me of the saga we had when DRose tried to come back from knee surgery. I hope this ends better, but it doesn’t look good.”

While Donovan said the team dodged a bullet regarding Ball’s ankle injury, there’s still concern that the 27-year-old guard could have been facing a season-ending injury had he continued playing.

That being the case, the Bulls will be very wary of Ball and his return timeline.
