    MANASSAS, Va. (7News) — Naresh Bhatt, Manassas Park man accused in wife’s disappearance and death, arrested He needs to go back to court. Thursday morning for a hearing.

    7News is following the case of 37-year-old Naresh and his wifeMamta Kafle Bhatt for months.

    Naresh, 37, was arrested during Mamta’s disappearance and charged with Prohibited Concealment of a Dead Body. Mamta went missing at the end of July and is presumed dead.

    TIMELINE:

    • The young mother was last seen at work on July 27.
    • Naresh said he last saw him on July 31, police said.
    • Health check was performed on August 2
    • Naresh did not report him missing until three days later
    • Police arrested Naresh on August 22

    While his public defense is trying to get him behind bars, prosecutors are working to keep him there.

    The defense argues that police lied to get a warrant, so there was no valid reason to arrest him. Defense also claims Mamta may still be alive and missing

    7News spoke with former U.S. Attorney John Fishwick, who is now a criminal defense attorney, to get some insight.

    “The judge will not dismiss the case because of this minor mistake in the arrest warrant,” Fishwick said. “That arrest warrant contains not only this detail, but also a lot of other evidence. So it becomes a heavy burden for the defense in any situation.”

    The state sent records subpoenas to the couples’ employers, which Fishwick said would likely produce a detailed timeline and is important evidence.

    Additionally, Mamta’s disappearance sparked a massive outpouring of support from the northern Virginia and Nepalese community, with many calling for justice.

    His supporters gathered at every hearing.

    The pre-trial hearing will be held on November 20. the trial will begin In December.
