Miami Dolphins Have At Least One NFL Network Playoff Believer

As the current NFL season reaches its midway point, NFL.com and NFL Network analysts picked eight AFC and NFC division winners and six wild card teams on Wednesday.

27 experts voted on who they thought would win their division or secure a wild card spot.

Credit the bravery of former NFL quarterback David Carr. He’s the only analyst to put money on the Miami Dolphins to secure a wild-card berth despite their current 2-6 record.

Carr picked the Dolphins to clinch the final wild card seed in the AFC.

A career journeyman after being drafted first overall by the Houston Texans in the 2002 NFL draft, Carr was a member of the New York Giants, who won the Super Bowl in 2011 by defeating the New England Patriots 21-17. XLVI.

The last teams to make the playoffs after starting with the same 2-6 record include the 2020 Washington Football Team and the 2022 Jacksonville Jaguars.

To illustrate the magnitude of Carr’s prediction, analysts selected the top six non-division winners and ranked them by number of votes received.

Los Angeles Chargers received the most votes with 57 points with the wild card, while Pittsburgh Steelers came in second with 56 points.

The Dolphins got a lone vote from Carr.

Carr picked Buffalo, Baltimore, Houston and Kansas City as the AFC division champions, then picked the Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals and Dolphins to make the playoffs as wild card teams.

The Dolphins were among seven teams to receive votes as wild-card entries, according to NFL.com’s projections. The Dolphins and New York Jets, who went 3-6, each received one vote. The Jets, whom the Dolphins will face in weeks 14 and 18, received one vote from Dan Parr.
