GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks man is facing seven charges, including attempted murder, after a recent incident in which he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times before fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle.

Moses Garang Ayom, 44, is charged with attempted class A felony murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Ayom also faces a Class B felony between $10,000 and $50,000, assault with a weapon, a Class C felony, a Class C felony fleeing an officer, a Class C felony reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, a Class B misdemeanor reckless driving and a Class B misdemeanor. Ayom allegedly said he stabbed the man because he felt pressure from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to take action after Biden referred to “them” as “trash” in a recent statement.
