FORT WORTH- A teenager was killed in an accidental shooting in East Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police responded to a shooting call on Avenue L near Little Street at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. Police teams arriving at the scene found the injured person shot in the upper part of his body.

Police said the attack occurred when a teenager was holding a gun and the gun went off, hitting the victim. Detectives identified a suspect and conducted interviews, but did not make an arrest.

Medical teams arriving at the scene could not save the injured person.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s homicide unit is leading the investigation. Police have not identified anyone involved or released details about where the teen got the gun. The Tarrant County Coroner will identify the victim.
