Lakers-Grizzlies Prediction, Odds and Important Players to Watch for Wednesday, November 6

The Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies are coming off disappointing road losses as they face off in Memphis on Wednesday night on Monday night.

Los Angeles lost to the Detroit Pistons on the road by double digits, going 1-3, but the bigger loss may have been Anthony Davis aggravating his foot injury.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Davis is continuing his daily routine and will not officially appear in this game against Memphis. However, the Grizzlies are seen as a one-point favorite in this match despite the injuries of Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart.

Is this a sign that Davis will sit out?

Here’s a breakdown of the odds and my best prediction for Wednesday night’s matchup.

Grizzlies Injury Report

The Grizzlies have gone the last few games without Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane, and are without Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. It put great pressure on them to produce.

Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James: If Davis sits, LeBron will be asked to carry the offensive load for the Lakers. The 39-year-old player averaged 21.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game this season, while shooting 48.6% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range.

Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant: The Grizzlies never played Ja more than 33 minutes a game, but he’s still averaging 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 9.7 assists per game. If Smart and Bane sit out, he will be tasked with taking over this offense again on Wednesday.

It’s tough to root for the short-handed Grizzlies after losing to the Brooklyn Nets, but the Lakers are 1-3 on the road (3-0 at home) and Davis has the NBA’s scoring leader this season.

Even though the All-Star big man has recovered from his foot injury, it is difficult to expect him to be as effective or play regular minutes in this match.

While the Lakers have struggled on the road, Memphis is 2-2 at home, but just 3-5 against the spread on the season.

Despite their injuries, I have confidence in the Grizzlies in this game because there is no one on the Lakers who can replace Davis’ impact at both ends of the floor.

So far this season, Los Angeles has allowed -5.1 points per 100 possessions with reserve center Jaxson Hayes on the court.

I’m going to try out Memphis in a pick scenario tonight.

Pick: Grizzlies ML (-115)
