Chinese husband burned 90 percent in gas explosion, returned to save his wife and later died

A husband in China heroically returned to his burning house to save his wife after she suffered severe burns to 92 percent of her body in a kitchen explosion, but later tragically died.

His deep love and courage deeply touched countless people on mainland social media.

The incident occurred on October 10 in Luoyang, northern China’s Henan province, when the man surnamed Liu tried to use the stove while preparing breakfast with his wife.

A trending online video captured the moment the kitchen was engulfed by a massive fireball from the explosion.

The explosion shattered Liu’s clothes and violently threw him out of the room.

“We never expected the gas to leak. When the explosion occurred, all the kitchen windows and doors exploded, and the person closest to the fire was my father,” Liu’s son, who worked for only a year after graduating from college, told Elephant News in an interview.
