2 Pa. The city is in the top 10 among the ‘most livable places’

The “most livable places” were listed in a new report United States.

Not one but two places in pennsylvania managed to enter the top 10.

Conducted and published by RentCafeThe study ranked Pittsburgh as the eighth best metropolitan area to live. Harrisburg ranked 10th.

“The Pittsburgh metro area, which stands out as a socially active hub with an above-average number of college-educated students (ranked No. 3 for location and community), ranks eighth,” the study details. “With a community that is as smart as it is social, it is no surprise that this metro area scores high for livability.”

Harrisburg also stood out for its top-ranked status, placing fourth in the “Location and Community” category.

Other Pennsylvania cities that made the list were Philadelphia, Scranton, Allentown and Reading, which ranked 46th, 48th, 49th and 58th, respectively, although they were not ranked as highly as Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.

However, in first place in the general classification was Portland, Maine. Second place is Lincoln, Neb. Des Moines, Iowa took third place.

“With its blend of urban amenities and spectacular natural views, the Portland, ME metro area strikes the perfect balance between good living (ranked #5 for quality of life) and “location, location, location” (ranked #5 for location and community).

“So it’s no surprise that the metro area is this year’s champion when it comes to livability. So what could be better than the aesthetics of a historic port area?”

These cities were found after RentCafe ranked areas with populations of at least 300,000 in three main categories: “Socioeconomy,” “Quality of Life” and “Location & Community.” Various sub-metrics such as “Cost of Living”, “Physical Inactivity” and “Long Travel” were also taken into account.
