WASHINGTON, November 6. /TASS/. Republicans will win at least 50 seats in the US Senate in the November 5 elections. Fox News reports.

Democrats won 42 seats in the upper house, according to the broadcaster.

Republicans currently hold 49 Senate seats, while Democrats hold 51 seats with independent candidates. US citizens are electing 34 out of 100 senators to the Senate in the vote to be held on November 5.

Republicans need at least one more seat to secure a majority in the Senate. If the Republican Party’s candidate wins the presidency, that would be enough because the nation’s vice president also has the right to vote in the Senate.

The 2024 race for the White House pits incumbent Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris against former Republican President Donald Trump.
