Where Does Mizzou Top the 2024 College Football Playoff Poll?

Missing the AP Poll for the first time this season Missouri Tigers sneaked into the first College Football Playoff (CFP) Rankings of the season.

Missouri’s real playoff chances are slim even with the new 12-team format. Although their 6-2 record doesn’t leave them far behind in the SEC, these two losses exposed many of the Tigers’ flaws.

With losses to Alabama and Texas A&M, Missouri lost by a combined margin of 76-10. Against Alabama, they were eliminated for the first time since 2019.

Looking at the rest of the schedule, it’s hard to see where Missouri will find a signature win given its other opponents. Missouri will face Oklahoma, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Arkansas in its final four games of the season.

Here are the CFP’s first rankings; It will release new rankings on subsequent Tuesdays through Selection Sunday on December 8th.
