Where Do the Rams Stand Halfway through Division Play?

The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) are currently 2-1 in the NFC West, tied for second place with the San Francisco 49ers (4-4) after nine weeks. With three league games left to play, the Rams have a strong path to win the NFC West title and enter as a dangerous playoff team.

The Rams have faced every team in their league once so far this season. The 49ers’ recent pair of wins over the Seattle Seahawks (4-5) have earned them a winning record in the West. Their only loss in the group was a crushing defeat against the Arizona Cardinals (5-4) in Week 2.

Looking at a potential playoff berth and NFC West title, the Rams will need to have a similar record in the next three contests. If they can win two of the remaining three league games and make it 4-2, that will be enough to win the league.

There’s no doubt this is the tightest divisional race in football. Only two games separate all four teams from top to bottom, and depending on what kind of competition these teams compete in will determine the winner of the West.

The Rams are no strangers to a postseason fight for a playoff spot. Although they did not win the league last year, they managed to enter as a Wild Card team by winning seven of the last eight games with a score of 10-7.

With four losses and nine games to play, the Rams will need to continue a similar run to not only make the playoffs, but also win their division. Judging by their recent style of play, this is certainly a strong possibility.

Three of the final four games of the Rams’ season will be against NFC West teams. If they can emulate their run from a season ago and claim at least two of these games, it will put them in the driver’s seat in the league and earn them their fourth league title since 2017.

Their current three-game winning streak is a great start to their comeback season as they start the season 1-4. This will be one of the most memorable season comebacks in recent history, and as every NFL team knows, anything can happen when you make the playoffs.
