Detroit police officer charged with domestic violence for 2nd time in Macomb County

MOUNT CLEMENS, Michigan (FOX 2)A 47-year-old Detroit Police Officer appeared in court on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in connection with a domestic violence incident in Harrison Township.

Police say Louis Allen Wilson came to his home on Oct. 22 and told the victim he was going to execute him. The victim then fled to a neighbor’s house and called the police.

Wilson, charged with domestic violence – second offense, a one-year misdemeanor, is a 16-year veteran of the department.

Macomb County District Attorney Pete Lucido said Wilson pleaded guilty in 2018 to domestic violence involving the same female friend.

“If he’s found guilty, it probably means he didn’t find out the first time,” Lucido said.

The second domestic violence charge is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of one year.

“That’s not my job. It’s the legislature’s job,” Lucido said. “We have to obey the law.”

Wilson is still with the Detroit Police Department and has been suspended. FOX 2 was told Chief James White will recommend he be suspended without pay.

This decision will be made by the Board of Police Commissioners.
