Evansville man arrested after speeding away from traffic stop

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville man is facing charges after deputies say he led them on a chase Monday night.

According to the press release, deputies attempted to pull 31-year-old Kevin Moman over when they saw him driving without a seatbelt near Covert Boulevard.

As deputies approached Moman’s vehicle, he sped away, they said.

Moman appears to have crashed into a ditch on Elmendorf Boulevard and then started running on foot, the statement said.

Moman was arrested after deputies found him hiding in the 3700 block of Wagoner Boulevard.

Officers said they found a small amount of suspected narcotics while searching Moman’s vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant out of Vanderburgh County for a petition to revoke his probation.

Moman was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bail.

He faces the following charges:

  1. Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Level 6 Felony
  2. Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Level 6 Felony
  3. Driving While Suspended, Class A Misdemeanor
  4. Extraordinary Warrant (Vanderburgh County)
