Delphi murders update as Richard Allen’s trial continues

Counterclaim Richard Allen continues on Tuesday Election Dayin Delphi, Indiana.

Allen, 52, is accused of killing two teenagers who went missing on Feb. 13, 2017, and were found dead the next day. He was arrested in 2022 and faces two counts of murder in the commission of kidnapping and two counts of murder in the killings. Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German.

On Monday, jurors heard Allen was not faking or exaggerating his strange behavior, a Carmel-based neuropsychologist said. Westville Prisonand prolonged isolation and lack of meaningful communication with his wife worsened his mental illness. Allen’s sister and daughter also took the stand and said Allen never abused them, despite statements he allegedly made during his mental health crisis.

A white van that turned up during the investigation also returned to the conversation on Monday, where the defense team was questioning an investigator and a local man.
