A Dhaka court today imposed a travel ban on former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and his wife Afrin Taposh over corruption allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain approved the verdict, allowing the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)’s plea.

ACC Deputy Director Md Monirul Islam presented the defense to the court.

According to case documents, the anti-graft agency is investigating allegations that Taposh amassed wealth through corruption.

“A travel ban should be imposed on him and his wife so that they cannot flee the country to escape justice,” Monirul said in his defence. he said.
