THP requests information following death of woman found on I-40 in Roane County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for assistance after a woman was found on I-40 in Roane County on October 13.

THP said troopers were dispatched to a person lying in the emergency lane of I-40 East at mile marker 341 in Roane County around 8:17 p.m. This is about a mile off Exit 340, which is the Rockwood Municipal Airport Road exit.

When troopers arrived, THP said they found an African-American woman with serious injuries. EMS then responded to the scene and took him to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he later died.

He is 38 years old, 5’3″ to 5’5″ tall and weighs between 170-175 pounds, and is believed to have a mole on his nose. Also, THP said he has no tattoos.

THP said investigators are seeking any information that would help identify the woman.
