Latest US elections: Trump and Harris hold rallies in key states as election approaches; shock poll puts Harris ahead in Iowa | US News

With Jess SharpLive news reporter in Lititz, Pennsylvania

Donald Trump finally arrived at his rally in Lititz after keeping his supporters waiting for more than an hour.

The county is located in Pennsylvania, a key state that could make or break this election for the Republican candidate.

Wearing his trademark red hat, the former president stands behind protective screens as the crowd is surrounded by police.

“Let’s go Trump,” a member of the crowd shouts.

As he turns to look at each section of the audience, people are waving and holding up signs.

Thousands of people are here and they are applauding and chanting slogans for the USA.

“A very, very special hello to Pennsylvania,” Mr. Trump begins.

“Do you like it better now or four years ago?” He asks.

He promises to reduce inflation, fight immigration and “bring back the American dream.”

He says the election is a choice between four more years of “incompetent idiots” and the “greatest years” in American history.

“You’re fired, Kamala,” he tells the crowd, whistling and cheering. He says she “treated him badly” because he should never have run for president.

He calls her a “low IQ person”; a woman in the crowd replies: “Come on, he’s dumber than a bag of rocks.”

Mr Trump turned to Joe Biden and said the election had been ripped out of his hands like “taking candy from a baby” from the “stupid” president.

Much of his speech focuses on election fraud; He claims that machines should not be used to vote, only paper ballots should be allowed and voter ID should be required.

The former Apprentice star also claims the media is corrupt and efforts are already being made to “steal the election.”

“These elections need to be decided by 21.00, 22.00 and 23.00 on Tuesday night. These are dishonest people,” says the 78-year-old.

“I am running against a completely corrupt person,” he adds.

“Lock them up,” a bystander shouts. “Take them, Mr. Trump,” says another.

Trump attacked ‘fake media’

Mr. Trump also claims the latest Iowa poll favoring Kamala Harris is “fake.”

“Our country is crooked and we will fix it,” he adds.

“I like to stay away from these teleprompters because the truth comes out.”

He goes on to talk about “fake news,” pointing out that there is a gap in the protective screen in front of the media section.

He says this means that if someone wants to shoot him, they have to “shoot” the media first.

“I don’t pay much attention to it,” he says.

The crowd cheers and laughs in response.
