MCHENRY COUNTY, Illinois (Wales) — A man was seriously injured after being run over by a tractor in the northern suburbs on Sunday.

The man was trapped when a bridge over a property in the 3200 block of North Route 47 in unincorporated Woodstock collapsed, fire officials said.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the facility just after 3 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said the man was found partially submerged in a creek but was conscious.

As a result of the collapse of the wooden bridge, the man was trapped in the water under the tractor. He was believed to have been trapped for more than 30 minutes before being rescued.

He was taken to a hospital in Libertyville with serious injuries from the crash and severe hypothermia from exposure to water, authorities said.
