Columbus fugitive facing murder charges arrested near Cincinnati

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A fugitive fugitive arrested on murder charges in Columbus more than two years ago was arrested in the Cincinnati area Friday morning.

Deputies arrested Mercedes Reyes, who is accused of a 2022 South Linden murder and recently posted amended bond in March, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. A deputy told NBC4 that Reyes, 27, failed to appear in Franklin County Common Pleas Court this summer after being charged with the murder of Shomari Little.

Little, 26, was shot and killed on Sept. 10 in the 1300 block of East 13th Street, according to Franklin County Municipal Court records. The next day, Reyes reportedly fled the scene after the shooting. named a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for him.
