Two women injured after falling from Shepherd of the Hills mountain train ride

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) – Two women were taken to a Springfield hospital after an incident Friday night in Shepherd of the Hills near Branson.

According to Jim Ferguson of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, firefighters were called to Shepherd of the Hills around 6 p.m. for an incident involving a mountain coaster.

The two women suffered moderate injuries when they fell from a car on the train, Ferguson said.

The incident is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the women were in their 50s and fell out of the car at a curve about six feet above the ground. State investigators were on the scene around 7 p.m.

Investigators returned at daylight on Saturday to conduct further inspection. Officials say the ride will not be released until the investigation is concluded.
